Every year at SHOEfabrik we raise awareness of some of the key issues that are impacting planet earth. We create simple initiatives that all the staff can take part in. Things like switching the lights off and opening the blinds instead, or using the stairs instead of the elevator.
We always try where possible to focus on issues we know are specifically bad in Vietnam; plastic being the key culprit.
We also took meter readings before and after the events so we could see how much electricity we had used and shared it with the business so they could see how these small changes can make a big impact.
‘Roughly 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into the world’s oceans every year, and according to a new study, the majority of this waste comes from just five countries: China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.’
