Stop the Sorrow

Look through their eyes
The innocence and wonder
Curiosity questioning the sadness of this time
The anger of the moment
It seeps into them
And it absorbs them unknowingly.

Uncomplicated contrasts
Between right and wrong
Frustration born from the shattered fundamentals
Manifesting as a confusion
They cannot understand
We must shelter them from this storm.

In their vision
There is still hope for harmony
The simple act of soothing of our broken world
Compassion and empathy
We must hold them tight
We can help to ease the pain.

The fragility of naivety so precious
A powerful reminder that love remains
That the child is not broken
They are the spark
A light in this darkness
We can follow
We can stop the sorrow.
